Gold Mining in Russia Up by 3.4% in January-September Year-on-Year - Gold Producers Union

The Russian enterprises produced 243 tonnes of gold in January-September, which is an increase of 3.4 percent compared to the corresponding period last year, the Union of Gold Producers of Russia said on Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th December, 2018) The Russian enterprises produced 243 tonnes of gold in January-September, which is an increase of 3.4 percent compared to the corresponding period last year, the Union of Gold Producers of Russia said on Tuesday.

According to the union, the production of gold produced by subsoil users increased by 3.4 percent to 194,857 tonnes, with 11,689 tonnes of non-ferrous metals having been co-generated. In addition, 25,103 tonnes of gold have been produced as a result of scrap processing.

Meanwhile, the silver production in Russia dropped by 1.6 percent to 1,204 tonnes over the given period.

The Union of Gold Producers of Russia has confirmed its gold production projection for 2018, which is thought to stand at the level of 328 tonnes. The silver mining, in turn, is expected to total 1,600 tonnes in the current year.
