French Interior Minister Matteo Salvini on Saturday voiced his condolences over the recent deadly stampede at a nightclub near the eastern Italian city of Ancona and said that it was necessary to identify those responsible for the tragedy.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 08th December, 2018) : French Interior Minister Matteo Salvini on Saturday voiced his condolences over the recent deadly stampede at a nightclub near the eastern Italian city of Ancona and said that it was necessary to identify those responsible for the tragedy.
In the early hours of Saturday, a stampede occurred at a rap concert in a nightclub near Ancona. The stampede, reportedly triggered by someone using pepper spray during the event, has left six people dead, while around 60 people have been hospitalized.
"One cannot die like this at the age of 15. My thoughts and prayers are with six people who died this night ... I hope that 13 people whose condition is grave will recover soon. Those responsible for the deaths of six people should be by all means identified," Salvini posted on Facebook.
He added that the upcoming peaceful gathering in Rome would be marked with a moment of silence in honor of the victims.
Salvini also said, while broadcast by RaiNews tv channel, that he did not rule out that there had been more people in the club than permitted under security measures. He added that emergency exits might have been blocked. Salvini announced that the country's law enforcement agencies would soon make public the first results of their investigation.
