Russia Registered No Ceasefire Violations in Syria Over Past 24 Hours - Military

The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire has not registered any ceasefire violations in the country over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side has recorded 15 truce breaches, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th December, 2018) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire has not registered any ceasefire violations in the country over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side has recorded 15 truce breaches, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered no cases of ceasefire violation ... The Turkish side has registered 15 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Idlib (1), Aleppo (6), Latakia (4) and Hama (4)," the ministry said in a daily bulletin.

According to the bulletin, the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Opposing Sides has carried out one humanitarian operation over this period. It distributed 500 food sets with a total weight of 2 tonnes in the city of Al-Suqaylabiyah, located in the western-central province of Hama.

Russia and Turkey, alongside Iran, are the guarantors of the ceasefire in Syria, while Moscow has also been assisting Damascus both through supporting the struggle against terrorist groups operating in the country and by providing humanitarian aid to Syrian civilians.
