MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th December, 2018) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his German counterpart Heiko Maas said on Thursday that they would take the Russian-German year of scientific and educational partnerships under their patronage.
"We, the Russian foreign minister and the German foreign minister, decided to take under our patronage the Russian-German Year of Scientific and Educational Partnerships 2018-2020, continuing the tradition of successful 'cross' years between our countries, and we invite higher educational institutions and research institutions to participate in this dialogue," the ministers said in a joint statement.
The top diplomats went on to note that Moscow and Berlin should deepen their mutual trust through cooperation on science and education.
Lavrov and Maas met earlier in the day at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Ministerial Council in Milan.
