Jahangir Tareen’s massive protocol draws criticism

Over a dozen cars accompanied his convoy while a special route was also made for the senior PTI leader.

Karachi (Point News – 5th December, 2018) Senior politician Jahangir Khan Tareen reached the residence of Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Baitul Maal Muhammad Ajmal Cheema in in Chak No 160-RB Bangay Chak Jhumra to condole his mother's death on Tuesday.

However, the protocol along him left behind all the ministers as over a dozen cars accompanied his convoy. Moreover, a special route was also made for the senior PTI leader.

After the reports went viral, the PTI is being strongly criticised and contended that despite getting disqualified and not having a government position, this protocol cannot be understood.

On the other hand, some people criticised that Jahangir Tareen is taking out the money he has been investing in the party.

Speaking to media after his visit, Tareen said that there was no rift in the party while the government was on a same page will all the state institutions.

He said it was a routine matter that politics was done on non-issues in the country, however, there was no danger to the political system.

He said he had no differences with Finance Minister Asad Umar. He had held no meeting with the minister and the news of their differences were being spread were baseless, he added.

He said the country's major problem was inflation, which was an outcome of undue and unwise spendings by the previous government. Costly projects like the Orange Line Train and power plants were initiated with high loans obtained at high interest rates, he added.

He said that the Punjab government was endeavouring to rein in hike in the prices of daily use commodities, besides fulfilling the promises the PTI had made during the election campaign.

Regarding the south Punjab province, he said it was a very difficult task. However, the PTI government was trying hard to fulfill its promise at the earliest, he added.
