Detachment Of Russian Pacific Fleet Ships Completes Working Visit To Singapore - Statement

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 02nd December, 2018) A detachment of three Russian Pacific Fleet vessels has finished its working visit to Singapore's Changi Naval Base in the southeast of the country, the fleet's press service said in a statement on Sunday.

"Today, the detachment of the Pacific Fleet ships ... completed its working visit to the Changi Naval Base (Singapore), where it arrived on November 27," the statement, published on the official website of the Russian Defense Ministry, said.

According to the statement, the detachment comprised the Varyag missile cruiser, the Admiral Panteleyev destroyer and the Boris Butoma tanker.

During the visit, the detachment command paid visits to the Singaporean Navy chief, the naval base commander and the city mayor. The Singaporean sailors, in turn, got an opportunity to visit the Russian vessels, while the Russian servicemen went on bus tours around the city's historic sites.

Russian Ambassador to Singapore Andrey Tatarinov and staff of the Russian diplomatic mission visited the Varyag missile cruiser, the statement added.
