Interior Secretary Zinke Says Earthquake In Alaska Caused Major Damage To Infrastructure

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st December, 2018) A large earthquake in the US state of Alaska has caused major damage to roads, bridges and water pipes, US Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke said in a statement on Friday.

"BIG earthquake in Alaska," Zinke said via Twitter. "Reports of severe damage to roads, bridges and water pipes. Aftershocks still possible. Tsunami threat around the entire Pacific coast."

A 7-magnitude earthquake hit southern Alaska on Friday morning about 35 miles southwest from the city of Palmer, according to the latest data from the National Weather Service.
