The anti-terror exercises were conducted at the stadium in the city of Chofu in Tokyo Metropolis. The drills focused on providing a response to a terrorist attack, according to the NHK broadcaster.
As part of the drills, the attendees were "evacuated," while the bomb was deactivated by a robotic arm, the broadcaster said.
The 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games will take place in Japan on July 24-August 9 and August 25-September 6, respectively.
