German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said Monday Berlin could become a mediator between Russia and Ukraine at Normandy format meetings to help reach a solution in connection with the incident in the Kerch Strait, when Russian border guards had to detain Ukrainian naval vessels for violation of the Russian state border on Sunday.
MADRID (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th November, 2018) German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said Monday Berlin could become a mediator between Russia and Ukraine at Normandy format meetings to help reach a solution in connection with the incident in the Kerch Strait, when Russian border guards had to detain Ukrainian naval vessels for violation of the Russian state border on Sunday."We will make it clear to both sides that we urge them to show restraint and, if necessary, we will mediate so that this conflict does not turn into a serious crisis," Maas told reporters in Madrid.
