Russia Registers 5 Ceasefire Violations in Syria Over Past 24 Hours - Defense Ministry

The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire has registered five ceasefire violations in the country over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side has recorded seven truce breaches, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th November, 2018) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire has registered five ceasefire violations in the country over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side has recorded seven truce breaches, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 5 cases of firing in the provinces of Aleppo (4)) and Hama (1). The Turkish side has registered 7 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Aleppo (6) and Hama (1)," the ministry said in its daily bulletin.

According to the bulletin, no humanitarian operations by Russian staff have been held over the past 24 hours.

The number of areas that signed reconciliation agreements in Syria stands at 2,518. The number of armed formations that have pledged to observe the ceasefire has not changed either, standing at 234, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

Russia and Turkey, alongside Iran, are the guarantors of the ceasefire in Syria, while Moscow has also been assisting Damascus both through supporting the struggle against terrorist groups operating in the country and by providing humanitarian aid to Syrian civilians.
