South Africa Wants to Increase Cooperation With Russia on Agriculture, Minerals - Minister

South Africa enjoys strong trade cooperation with Russia and would like to increase collaboration on agriculture and minerals, South African Foreign Minister Lindiwe Sisulu said at a press conference in Moscow on Thursday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd November, 2018) South Africa enjoys strong trade cooperation with Russia and would like to increase collaboration on agriculture and minerals, South African Foreign Minister Lindiwe Sisulu said at a press conference in Moscow on Thursday.

"The trade relations with Russia have been very strong and continue to be very strong. We are looking for various other areas to collaborate on ... We are interested in ensuring that our mineral engagements are stepped up. We are interested in making sure that our agricultural agreements are stepped up," Sisulu said.

The South African foreign minister added that the 16th session of the Intergovernmental Trade and Economic Committee would be held soon in South Africa after fruitful discussions in Russia on Wednesday during the 15th session.

Sisulu arrived in Moscow on Tuesday. Apart from the participation in the committee's session, she held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday.
