South Korea and North Korea are going to connect an almost 2-mile-long tactical road inside the demilitarized zone separating the two Koreas as part of an agreement to retrieve the remains of soldiers killed in the 1950-1953 Korean War, local media reported on Thursday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd November, 2018) South Korea and North Korea are going to connect an almost 2-mile-long tactical road inside the demilitarized zone separating the two Koreas as part of an agreement to retrieve the remains of soldiers killed in the 1950-1953 Korean War, local media reported on Thursday.

The road will be located at the Arrowhead Ridge 90 kilometers (56 miles) northeast of Seoul - a site the two sides will be working at from April to October 2019, according to the Yonhap news agency.

In early October, troops from South Korea and North Korea began removing landmines from the demilitarized zone as part of the preparation for the project.

The agreement to retrieve Korean War remains was reached at the third summit between South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Pyongyang in September.
