Japanese Prime Minister Says Will Visit Russia in Early 2019

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said on Wednesday after talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Singapore that he intended to visit Russia in the beginning of the next year.

TOKYO (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th November, 2018) Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said on Wednesday after talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Singapore that he intended to visit Russia in the beginning of the next year.

"Next year at the G20 summit, I will be happy to welcome Putin [in Japan's Osaka], but before that, in the beginning of the year, I will go to Russia, and we will hold a Japan-Russia summit," Abe said, as quoted by the Kyodo news agency.

Singapore is hosting the Russia-Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit as well as the 13th East Asia Summit this week.
