Afghan Government-Taliban Direct Talks Still Hinge on Preconditions - High Peace Council

The agreement on direct talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban has not been reached yet, as the Taliban movement has several preconditions, the High Peace Council deputy chairman, who lead the council's delegation at Moscow meeting, told journalists on the sidelines of the talks on Friday.

"No they [the Taliban] have some conditions [for direct talks]," Hajji Deen Mohammad said, when asked if an agreement on direct talks between the Afghan government and Taliban had been reached.
