Monaco's ex-Justice Minister Philippe Narmino has been charged with corruption and "trading in influence," the Europe 1 radio station reported Thursday, citing the principality's prosecutor's office.

In September 2017, Narmino resigned amid reports of secret participation of Monaco Justice Ministry officials in a litigation between Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev and Swiss art dealer Yves Bouvier.

"Former Justice Minister Philippe Narmino was charged after Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev. Both are suspected of corruption," the radio said.

The Monaco prosecutors specified that Narmino had been charged with passive and active "trade in influence" and passive corruption.
