TOKYO (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 08th November, 2018) US Vice President Mike Pence will travel to Japan for an official visit on Monday and Tuesday, during which he is scheduled to hold talks with the Asian nation's Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said Thursday.
"US Vice President Mike Pence will pay a visit to Japan on November 12-13. The Japanese government welcomes the vice president's visit. Prime Minister Abe will receive the vice president on November 13," Suga told a press conference in Tokyo.
Pence's trip to Japan was aimed at discussing the positions of Washington and Tokyo on the issues of common interest related to North Korea and reconfirm the inviolability of bilateral relations ahead of the upcoming ASEAN Summit in Singapore and APEC meeting in Papua New Guinea, Suga noted.
