Russian Helicopters To Exhibit Mi-171A2, Ansat Rotorcraft For 1st Time At Airshow In China

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st November, 2018) Russian Helicopters company said on Wednesday that it will for the first time showcase its equipment during the upcoming Airshow China 2018, while Mi-171A2 and Ansat helicopters will also take part in the flight program.

"Mi-171A2 and Ansat have already arrived in China, where they are conducting practice flights in the run-up to the opening of the flight program of the airshow. Guests and participants of Airshow China 2018 will be able to see the Russian aircraft in the sky every day during the exhibition, which will be held on November 6-11 in the city of Zhuhai," the company said in a statement.

As for the exhibition, the company plans to showcase its Mi-171A2, Ansat and Ka-32A11BC helicopters, and tell potential customers about competitive advantages of Russian-made helicopters.

China, which has more than 400 Russian-made helicopters in service, is one of the world's key markets for helicopters, the statement said, quoting the company's CEO Andrey Boginsky. Russian Helicopters is ready to make offers to satisfy the Chinese market's rising demand for modern aircraft, he added.

According to Boginsky, the certification of Ansat and Mi-171A2 helicopters in China has already started. In particular, the certification of Ansat will finish soon, while the certification of the Mi-171A2 will be finalized in the middle of 2019.

The Mi-171A2 is an advanced helicopter which combines technologies used in the construction of the Mi-8/17 series with new ones, such as upgraded engines and avionics. The Ansat, a multipurpose light twin-engine turbine helicopter, can be used to carry goods and passengers, as well as for surveillance, search and rescue missions, and medical evacuations.
