MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 31st October, 2018) France's new Interior Minister Christophe Castaner has urged police to stay vigilant on Halloween after threats were made online to "purge" officers.
"I directed all prefects across France to be particularly careful because there have been extremely violent threats against our security forces," he told France Info on Wednesday.
Castaner said he had taken threats to kill police very seriously. An extra 200 officers were deployed to a northern Paris suburb where a teen had been detained in connection with the online campaign. Another suspect was held in Grenoble.
