Sentsov Gains 22 Pounds, Close To Pre-Hunger Strike Weight - Russian Official

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 31st October, 2018) Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov, jailed in Russia for plotting terrorist attacks, has gained about 10 kilograms (some 22 Pounds) within three weeks, and his weight is now close to the one he had before his hunger strike, deputy head of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) Valery Maksimenko told reporters on Wednesday.

Sentsov ended his over 140-day hunger strike in early October.

"Currently, jailed Sentsov's health is in satisfactory condition. He is clearly fulfilling the doctors' recommendations, which has had a positive impact on his rehabilitation process. Within the last three weeks Sentsov gained some 10 kilograms almost up to his initial weight [before the hunger strike]," Maksimenko told reporters.

He added that the Ukrainian citizen had been eating ordinary food, and that his health condition was being monitored by doctors.

In 2014, Sentsov was arrested in Simferopol, and in 2015 a Russian court sentenced him for 20 years in prison for setting up a terrorist cell Right Sector (banned in Russia) and plotting terrorist acts in the Crimean cities of Yalta, Sevastopol and Simferopol. The Ukrainian filmmaker has denied his guilt.
