MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 31st October, 2018) More than 450 Syrian refugees have returned to their home country from Lebanon and Jordan over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for the Reception, Allocation and Accommodation of Refugees said in a bulletin on Wednesday.

"Over the past 24 hours, 455 Syrian nationals returned to the Syrian Arab Republic from foreign countries, including 102 refugees (30 women and 52 children) returning from Lebanon via the Jeydet-Yabus and Talkalakh checkpoints, and 353 people (106 women and 180 children) coming from Jordan via the Nasib checkpoint," the bulletin read.

Moreover, 231 internally displaced Syrians returned to their homes over the past 24 hours. The Russian Center for Syrian reconciliation has carried out two humanitarian actions over the past 24 hours, delivering 3.24 tonnes of food to the settlement of Tel Istabl (1.95 tonnes) located in the Aleppo province and to the settlement of Aqraba (1.29 tonnes) located in the province of Daraa.

The center added that Russia's Chechen Republic's Akhmad Kadyrov foundation had distributed 150 school supply kits in Aqraba and 15 more food sets among the families of fallen Syrian servicemen in Aleppo. At least 53 Syrians, including 32 children, have received medical assistance over the past 24 hours.

According to the bulletin, as the Syrian government forces continue their mine clearance operations, they destroyed 38 explosive objects, including 12 improvised explosive devices.

As the Syrian government has regained control over most of the country's territories that were seized by terrorists, it is now focused on creating favorable conditions for repatriating refugees. Moscow is assisting Damascus in this process, along with providing humanitarian aid to civilians and being a guarantor of the ceasefire, together with Turkey and Iran.
