US State Secretary Mike Pompeo's special envoy will engage in two days of "diplomatic efforts to achieve the final, fully verified denuclearization of North Korea," the State Department said.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un committed to ridding his country of its nuclear arsenal at a historic summit with US President Donald Trump in Singapore in June.
The White House said last month it was preparing for a second summit at Kim's request, after the denuclearization process was reported to have slowed down.
