Germany's SPD Leader Threatens To Pull Out Of Coalition Government

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 29th October, 2018) German Social Democratic leader Andrea Nahles, a minor partner in the Federal coalition, said Sunday she would consider pulling out of the government if it is not reformed, after losses in a state election.

Nahles accused the "federal politic" of a major role in SPD's defeat in Hesse parliament polls, saying she would propose drawing up a "clear and binding" roadmap for the government.

"Judging by how this roadmap is implemented until an agreed midterm review, we will see clearly if we are better off in this government," she told reporters.

Nahles said she did not want to "leave our fate to our coalition partners" and wait until the government finds a "sensible" working mode.

Exit polls suggest the center-left partner of Chancellor Angela Merkel's CDU is set to win 19.6 percent of the vote. CDU is expected to come first with 27.2 percent. Both parties polled above 30 percent in 2013.
