MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 27th October, 2018) French President Emanuel Macron said Saturday that stability in Syria was on the line at the historic four-way summit underway in Istanbul, Turkey.
Macron announced in a tweet he had landed in Turkey for talks on Syria with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkey's Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel.
"Stability in Syria that will avert a new humanitarian disaster is what's at stake today [at the meeting] with President Erdogan, President Putin and Chancellor Merkel," he tweeted.
The four leaders are expected to discuss Syrian peace process, a demilitarized zone in Idlib in northwest Syria and be briefed by UN special envoy to Syria Steffan de Mistura, who is stepping down next month.
