Over 930 people returned to Syria over the past 24 hours, including 149 refugees who came back to the country from neighboring Lebanon, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for the Reception, Allocation and Accommodation of Refugees said in its daily bulletin on Thursday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 25th October, 2018) Over 930 people returned to Syria over the past 24 hours, including 149 refugees who came back to the country from neighboring Lebanon, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for the Reception, Allocation and Accommodation of Refugees said in its daily bulletin on Thursday.

"Over the past day, in total 932 people returned to the Syrian Arab Republic from the territory of foreign states: 149 people (45 women and 76 children) left Lebanon for Syria via the Jaydet-Yabus and Talkalakh CPs [checkpoints], 783 people (235 women and 399 children) from Jordan via the Nasib CP," the bulletin read.

A total of 722 internally displaced Syrians returned to their homes over the past 24 hours, the center added.

No humanitarian actions were held over the past 24 hours, while 320 people, including 131 children, received medical assistance in two towns located in the provinces of Idlib and Deir ez-Zor.

According to the bulletin, as the Syrian government forces continue their mine clearance operations, they destroyed 36 explosive objects, including four improvised explosive devices, over the past 24 hours, while they also cleared up nine hectares of territory and two kilometers (1.2 miles) of roads.

As the Syrian government has regained control over most of the country's territories that were seized by terrorists, it is now focused on creating favorable conditions for repatriating refugees. Moscow is assisting Damascus in this, along with providing humanitarian aid to civilians and being a guarantor of the ceasefire, together with Turkey and Iran.
