Hermitage Capital Asks Finnish Police To Probe Alleged Money Laundering By Nordea Bank

HELSINKI (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd October, 2018) Finland's National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said on Monday it had received a request from Hermitage Capital Management, co-founded by UK-based businessman Bill Browder, to investigate alleged money laundering by Nordic banking group Nordea.

"The central criminal police [unit] has today received an investigation request from Hermitage Capital Management," the NBI said on Twitter without providing further details.

Hermitage Capital Management claimed some 527 Nordea accounts were allegedly involved in money laundering schemes, Helsingin Sanomat newspaper reported.

The Helsinki-based Nordea Bank reportedly said it worked closely with relevant authorities and reported on all suspicious transactions.
