At least 15 people were killed in explosions at polling stations during the parliamentary elections in Afghanistan, local media reported on Saturday.

More than 110 people were injured, according to the Pahjwok news agency.

Earlier in the day, Afghan Interior Ministry spokesperson told Sputnik that at least three explosions had hit different areas of Kabul, where election to the lower house of the country's parliament were taking place.

Later, Italian non-governmental organization Emergency reported that 30 people injured in an explosion near a polling station in Kabul had been taken to the surgical center, including a child who was dead on arrival to the hospital.

Before the vote, members of the radical Taliban movement, which does not recognize the Saturday election, threatened civilians and announced their intention to sabotage the electoral process.
