Russia's Vladivostok to Host 5th Eastern Economic Forum in September 2019 - Organizers

The fifth Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) will be held in the Russian city of Vladivostok on September 4-6, 2019, the Russian Roscongress foundation, the organizer of the event, said on Friday.

"The EEF will be held for the fifth time already. Over the years, the forum has become an acknowledged international platform for discussions on multilateral cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. The participation of representative delegations including state leaders in the 2018 EEF is a proof to this," Anton Kobyakov, the Russian presidential adviser, was quoted by Roscongress as saying.

Kobyakov emphasized that a record-high number of agreements had been signed at the fourth edition of the EEF, adding that this showcased EEF "high practical efficiency."

"I am sure that next year the anniversary edition of the forum will unite participants interested in the Far East's further integration into the economy of the Asia-Pacific," Kobyakov stressed.

The fourth edition of the annual business forum was held on September 11-13 in Vladivostok. As a result of the event, a total of 175 agreements worth 2.9 trillion rubles (around $44 billion at the current exchange rate) were signed, while Russian President Vladimir Putin held meetings with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Mongolian President Khaltmaa Battulga at the forum and on its sidelines.
