The United States agrees that UN Special Envoy to Syria Steffan de Mistura should convene a Syrian Constitutional Committee meeting in Geneva immediately, US Deputy Envoy to the United Nations Jonathan Cohen said on Wednesday.
UNITED NATIONS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 17th October, 2018) The United States agrees that UN Special Envoy to Syria Steffan de Mistura should convene a Syrian Constitutional Committee meeting in Geneva immediately, US Deputy Envoy to the United Nations Jonathan Cohen said on Wednesday.
"Today, there is a consensus in the UN Security Council that a constitutional committee should be convened in Geneva immediately by the UN Special Envoy as he wishes to do. We join in this consensus," Cohen said during a UN Security Council meeting.
