Over 100 Russian Companies To Partake In Inaugural China Int'l Import Expo - Official

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 12th October, 2018) Over 100 Russian companies will participate in the inaugural China International Import Expo that will be held in Shanghai in November, Andrey Slepnev, the director general of the Russian Export Center, told Sputnik on Friday.

"Over 100 companies, as well as business missions, are planned to participate in the exhibition," Slepnev said.

Russian companies would display their products at five industrial sectors, including food and agricultural products, high-tech equipment, medical equipment, services and consumer goods, Slepnev added.

The companies producing agricultural products had expressed the most interest in participating in the event, the official noted.

Both large and small companies will take part in the expo, Slepnev stated.

The Russian delegation at the event planned to discuss with Chinese colleagues various issues, including improvement of bilateral trade relations and exploring new shipping routes for boosting bilateral trade.

China International Import Expo is scheduled for November 5-10. The event was for the first time announced by Chinese President Xi Jinping in May 2017. The event organizers expect over 2,800 companies from over 130 countries and regions to participate in the exhibition.
