US Special Envoy For Iran To Holds Talks In India, France - State Department

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 12th October, 2018) The Trump administration's Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook is on a week-long trip to hold talks with European Union and Indian officials on Iran's missile and nuclear programs, the US Department of State said in a media note.

"Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook is traveling on October 10-17 to India and Europe to further discuss US foreign policy toward Iran," the note said on Thursday.

In India, Hook and Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Francis Fannon will meet with Indian government counterparts for consultations and in Luxembourg, he will attend meetings with officials gathered for the European Union meeting of Ministers, the note explained.

In France, Hook "will meet with the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency; and in Belgium, he will meet with EU counterparts to discuss the Iranian regime's continued missile proliferation," the note said.

Earlier this year, the Trump administration unilaterally pulled the United States out of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) negotiated with Iran in 2015 under which Tehran agreed to halt its nuclear development program in exchange for sanctions relief.
