BP Chief Says US Sanctions Unlikely to Target Russian Energy Companies

The US sanctions are unlikely to be imposed on Russian energy companies, such as Rosneft, Gazprom or LUKoil, as it would put the European energy system in jeopardy, BP Group Chief Executive Bob Dudley said Wednesday.

LONDON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 10th October, 2018) The US sanctions are unlikely to be imposed on Russian energy companies, such as Rosneft, Gazprom or LUKoil, as it would put the European energy system in jeopardy, BP Group Chief Executive Bob Dudley said Wednesday.

"I do not think that would happen. If sanctions were put on Rosneft or Gazprom or LUKoil like what happened with Rusal, you would virtually shut down energy systems of Europe, it is a bit of extreme thing to happen. We invest in Russia carefully, not just in Rosneft," Dudley said during his address at the Oil & Money conference in London.
