Earlier in the day, the Europe 1 broadcaster reported that the French authorities had launched an investigation into the disappearance of the Interpol chief, who had gone missing since traveling to China in late September.
According to the China Morning Post, Meng, who also serves as the Chinese deputy public security minister, was taken for interrogation soon after landing in China a week ago.
