Russia's Aluminum Exports Up by 14.8% Year-on-Year in January-August - Customs Service

Russia's exports of unwrought aluminum reached over 2.12 million tonnes between January and August, marking an almost 15 percent increase compared to the same period of 2017, the Russian Federal Customs Service said on Thursday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 05th October, 2018) Russia's exports of unwrought aluminum reached over 2.12 million tonnes between January and August, marking an almost 15 percent increase compared to the same period of 2017, the Russian Federal Customs Service said on Thursday.

According to the data published by the customs service on its official website, Russia exported over $3.8 billion worth of aluminum over the given period, which is an almost 30 percent surge compared to 2017. The service added that August saw a 41 percent leap in aluminum exports from the previous month.

The exports of refined copper and unwrought copper alloys increased by 17.6 percent compared to the first eight months of 2017, coming out to 441,000 tonnes worth $2.9 billion.

Unwrought nickel suffered a slight fall of 3.8 percent over the period, down to just over 90,000 tonnes, however, nickel exports were worth more than $1.2 billion, which is a 37 percent hike compared to the same period of 2017. Moreover, in August, nickel exports more than doubled compared to July.
