ST. PETERSBURG (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 04th October, 2018) Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said Wednesday he expected Iranian troops to leave Syria to put an end to the seven-year war.
"I hope that all foreign troops would be pulled out of Syria, first of all, Iranian forces, so that the war in Syria could end," he told reporters in St. Petersburg.
Kurz said he had followed closely Putin's remarks on Syria. The Russian president said earlier that all parties to the Syrian war should be ready to withdraw once terrorists were defeated.
The Austrian chancellor, who is in Russia for a summit with President Vladimir Putin, also said he envisaged a "positive solution" for the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
