UNITED NATIONS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th September, 2018) The African Union is thankful to Russia for its peace efforts in the Central African Republic (car) and sees it as a contribution to its own initiative rather than a parallel process, Ismail Chergui, Commissioner for Peace and Security of the African Union, told reporters.
"We are thankful for the efforts done by Russia, but also others in order to contribute to the success of the African initiative. African meeting in Khartoum was a contribution, not a parallel initiative; we see it as a contribution," Chergui said on Thursday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly (UNGA).
