Hungary Foreign Minister Says Hopes Trade With Russia to Increase Almost Twofold to $10Bln

Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto said on Monday he was hoping for Hungarian-Russian trade to increase to $10 billion, after reaching $5.5. billion last year.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 17th September, 2018) Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto said on Monday he was hoping for Hungarian-Russian trade to increase to $10 billion, after reaching $5.5. billion last year.

"Trade turnover last year [between Hungary and Russia] reached $5.5 billion. And I agree with you that the next result should show $10 billion," Szijjarto said at the meeting with First Deputy Speaker of Russia's Federation Council Nikolai Fedorov.

In July, Russian President Vladimir Putin said the Russian-Hungarian trade had grown by 25 percent in the first quarter of 2018.

Putin is set to meet Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Tuesday. Szijjarto said earlier in the day, that the two leaders will focus on economy and energy.
