"What is now being presented as the beginning of the offensive by the Syrian troops with Russian support is an untrue representation of the facts. Both the Syrian troops, and we are only responding to the attacks from the Idlib zone," Lavrov said.
He added that Russia would create humanitarian corridors in idlib, take every effort to prevent civilians' suffering.
"I assure you that we will approach these issues as carefully as possible, we will create humanitarian corridors ... we will do our best so that the civilian population would not suffer. We will not act in the same way that the [US-led] coalition acted in Iraqi Mosul and in the Syrian Raqqa," the minister stressed.
