MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 10th September, 2018) US President Donald Trump on Sunday praised North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for his decision not to showcase nuclear missiles during the military parade in Pyongyang.
Earlier on Sunday, North Korea held a military parade commemorating the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the state.
"This is a big and very positive statement from North Korea. Thank you To Chairman Kim. We will both prove everyone wrong! There is nothing like good dialogue from two people that like each other! Much better than before I took office," Trump wrote on his Twitter page.
He also cited the expert opinion provided by the Fox news broadcaster that the absence of nuclear missiles at the parade showed Pyongyang's commitment to denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
The situation on the Korean Peninsula has significantly improved within the last several months, with North Korean leader Kim having held two rounds of talks with South Korean President Moon Jae-in and a top-level summit with Trump in Singapore. During the talks with Trump Kim pledged to ensure denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
