Nearly 70% of Germans Dissatisfied With Migrants' Integration Into Society - Reports

As many as 69 percent of Germans negatively view the results of migrants' integration into society, while only 27 percent of respondents believe that the integration of migrants who have arrived since 2015 is going well, local media reported Friday, citing poll results.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th September, 2018) As many as 69 percent of Germans negatively view the results of migrants' integration into society, while only 27 percent of respondents believe that the integration of migrants who have arrived since 2015 is going well, local media reported Friday, citing poll results.

According to a survey carried out by Germany's ARD tv channel, the same share of Germans (69 percent) said that the integration of migrants into the German labor market left much to be desired, while 23 percent of Germans said they were happy with the existing state of affairs.

The poll also found that 50 percent of respondents assessed the accommodation and distribution of refugees in the country as "poor" or "rather poor," while 43 percent of interviewees expressed a favorable view with regard to the issue.

In addition, an overwhelming majority of Germans (83 percent) believed that the process deporting migrants whose asylum was denied was not well-established. Almost 70 percent of respondants expressed dissatisfaction with the implementation of measures to prevent violence and crime.

The poll was conducted among 1,502 German nationals on September 3-5.

Germany has become one of the countries most affected by the migration crisis in Europe, which broke out in 2015 with a huge influx of people fleeing armed conflicts in the middle East and North Africa. Germany currently has the largest share of migrants in the total population 12 percent, according to the World Population Review.
