Akbar Bugti murder case: Musharraf petitions SC to return Rs2m surety bonds

Musharraf had submitted two bail bonds worth Rs 1 million each, following which, his bail was approved in Akbar Bugti murder case

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 7th September, 2018) Former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf on Friday petitioned the Supreme Court to return Rs 2 million he submitted as surety bonds in the Akbar Bugti case.

In the petition filed by Musharraf's lawyer, the former president stated that he was acquitted in the case and therefore should be returned the bond money.

Fixing the hearing of the petition on September 12, the Supreme Court constituted a three-member bench headed by Justice Mushir Alam.

Musharraf had submitted two bail bonds worth Rs 1 million each, following which, his bail was approved in the murder case of Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti.

On January 19, 2016, an anti-terrorism court had acquitted Musharraf in the case pertaining to the murder of veteran Baloch nationalist leader Akbar Bugti in 2006.
