Mumbai (Pakistan Point News – 6th September, 2018) On ‘Read a Book Day’, Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre, who has been diagnosed with cancer, has recommended a new book for her book club.
In her Instagram post, Sonali is seen with a book in her hand and a smile on her face as she proudly shows her bald head from chemotherapy.
“Today is #ReadABookDay and what better way to celebrate it than by announcing the next book for #SBC! This one is a historical fiction set in Russia called "A Gentleman in Moscow" by @amortowles. The premise sounds pretty interesting, and I can't wait to start reading it! #SonalisBookClub” she wrote.

Yesterday, the actress had shared a picture of her ‘new look’ wearing a wig. Sonali shared a video collage of her pictures along with an emotional note about wanting to look good despite the toll battling cancer has taken on her.
“Vanity is my favourite sin,” Sonali began her post by quoting Al Pacino.
“Well, it might not be my all-time favourite sin (that would be gluttony), but who doesn’t like looking good?” she continued.
The actor added that she had some apprehensions about wearing a wig. “When I was testing out the wigs, I had a brief moment of self-doubt... ‘Am I vain for wanting to look good?’ As part of the entertainment industry, you’re always expected to look good... Maybe that has been ingrained in me? But then I gave it a thought and I realized I like looking good for me. If I’m in the mood to wear a scarf, I will. If I want to walk around bald and free, I will. Only you know what would make you feel good, and what works best for you. So take every opportunity you can to #SwitchOnTheSunshine. #OneDayAtATime.”
Sonali had on July 4 revealed about her diagnosis and said that she is taking the battle head on as she is getting her cancer treatment in New York.
Since the actress shared the news on her social media handles, love and best wishes for her speedy recovery have been pouring in from friends, fans and colleagues.
