Syria will be high on the agenda of the meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US State Secretary Mike Pompeo at the UN General Assembly, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said Wednesday.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 05th September, 2018) Syria will be high on the agenda of the meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US State Secretary Mike Pompeo at the UN General Assembly, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said Wednesday.
"Undoubtedly, Syria is one of the main topics, it takes considerable time at each telephone conversation, personal contact," Ryabkov told journalists answering the question whether the topic of Syria would be discussed at the planned meeting between Lavrov and Pompeo during the UN General Assembly at the end of September.
The deputy minister stressed that contacts with the US side on Syria in general and the situation in Idlib in particular "of course, continue."
"They have not been interrupted neither on military nor diplomatic channels," Ryabkov said.
