Polling concludes, counting underway to elect 13th president of Pakistan

Polling for presidential election 2018 began at 10am today and concluded at 4pm. 

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 4th September, 2018) The polling to elect the 13th president of the country has concluded while counting of the votes is underway.

The electoral college of Pakistan – comprising the Senate and the recently elected national and provincial legislatures – has cast its vote for the country’s 13th president on Tuesday.

The PTI had fielded its senior leader Arif Alvi while Muttahida Majlis-e-Aamal’s Maulana Falzur Rehman and Pakistan People’s Party's Aitzaz Ahsan are in the race for the election for the office of President. The election was held through secret balloting procedure.

Polling for presidential election 2018 began at 10am today and concluded at 4pm.

The Presiding Officer for Presidential Election, Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmed Seth, has begun counting the votes, each vote is being scrutinised to ensure has put marks on the vote.

The successful candidate would take oath as the 13th President for the next five years.
