Putin Congratulates Vietnamese President On National Day

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 02nd September, 2018) Russian President Vladimir Putin sent on Sunday a greeting telegram to his Vietnamese counterpart Tran Dai Quang on the occasion of the National Day, which marks the 73rd anniversary of Vietnam's independence, the Kremlin press service said.

"Putin expressed confidence in further active development of political dialogue, bilateral cooperation in various areas, as well as partnership in dealing with acute international issues in the interest of the Russian and Vietnamese peoples and in line with the enhancement of stability and security in the Asia-Pacific Region," the presidential press service said.

According to the Kremlin, the Russian leader also noted an amicable and constructive nature of the bilateral relations.

Vietnam proclaimed its independence from France, which colonized the country and the Indochina Peninsula in the late 1880s, on September 2, 1945.
