The case was dismissed by a Paris court on August 16, the Franceinfobroadcaster reported, citing Darmanin's lawyer.
The case concerned an initial complaint by a woman who said that Darmanin raped her back in 2009, when he was in charge of legal issues at the Union for a Popular Movement party. The woman claimed Darmanin offered her support in some court case in exchange for sexual favors, according to Franceinfo.
The complaint was filed in 2017 and dismissed last February, after which the woman filed another complaint accusing Darmanin of the betrayal of trust and coercion to extort sexual favors from her.
The minister's lawyer told the outlet that Darmanin would sue the woman for defamation.
