Russia's Ilyushin company has received a positive assessment of test flights of a new Il-76MD-90A by the Defense Ministry, the state trials are expected to be completed by 2021, chief designer of the Il-76 aircraft at Ilyushin, Andrei Yurasov, said Friday.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 31st August, 2018) Russia's Ilyushin company has received a positive assessment of test flights of a new Il-76MD-90A by the Defense Ministry, the state trials are expected to be completed by 2021, chief designer of the Il-76 aircraft at Ilyushin, Andrei Yurasov, said Friday.
"The assessment received by the company gives the green light to the production and operation of this aircraft for state customers," Yurasov said describing it as "a big step toward mass production."
Yurasov added that the main stage of the state testing program for Il-76MD-90A is currently underway, and it is planned that they will be completed in 2020-2021.
