Russia's Progress MS-08 Scuttled in Pacific Ocean as Planned - Mission Control

Russia's Progress MS-08 space freighter which undocked from the International Space Station (ISS) on August 23 and was used to conduct a scientific experiment for a week, was sunk in the Pacific Ocean, the RKA Mission Control Center told Sputnik on Thursday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 30th August, 2018) Russia's Progress MS-08 space freighter which undocked from the International Space Station (ISS) on August 23 and was used to conduct a scientific experiment for a week, was sunk in the Pacific Ocean, the RKA Mission Control Center told Sputnik on Thursday.

"Scuttling of Progress went according to the regular scheme. Refractory fragments that passed through the atmosphere have reached the waters of the non-navigational region of the Pacific Ocean," the center said.

Progress MS-08 was launched to ISS from the Baikonur cosmodrome in February, docking the station on February 15.
