MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 30th August, 2018) Russia has landed atop the list of Ukraine's biggest investors this year, having injected $436 million into the neighbor's economy, official figures showed.
A report published Wednesday by Ukraine's state statistics service put the total bulk of foreign direct investment between January and June at $1,259 billion.
Cyprus ranked second with investments to the tune of $219 million, followed by the Netherlands with $207.7 million, according to statistics.
Austria came fourth with $58.7 million, while Poland, France and the United Kingdom invested respectively $54.1 million, $46.9 million and $43.4 million.
More than a half of that money ($750 million) went into insurance and financial services, 9.6 percent was invested in wholesale and retail trade, 8.2 percent in industries, and 7.9 percent in information and communication technologies.
