Russia Registers 26 Ceasefire Violations in Syria Over Past 24 Hours - Defense Ministry

The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission on Syrian reconciliation has recorded 26 ceasefire violations in the Arab republic over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 29th August, 2018) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission on Syrian reconciliation has recorded 26 ceasefire violations in the Arab republic over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.

"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 26 cases of firing in the provinces of Latakia (13), Aleppo (12), Hama (1)," the ministry said in a daily bulletin, adding that Turkey registered one ceasefire breach in the province of Hama.

Over the past 24 hours, the Russian Center for Syria's reconciliation supplied 1.1 tonnes of food to the residents of the Daraa province.

The number of areas, which signed reconciliation agreements in Syria, stood at 2,518. The number of armed formations that have pledged to observe the ceasefire regime also remained the same 234.

Russia, alongside Iran and Turkey, is a guarantor of the ceasefire regime in Syria. Moscow has also been assisting Damascus both through supporting the struggle against the terrorist groups and by providing humanitarian aid to the residents of the crisis-torn country.
