The US Embassy in Kiev announced on Tuesday that US Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker would visit Ukraine in September.
KIEV (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th August, 2018) The US Embassy in Kiev announced on Tuesday that US Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker would visit Ukraine in September.
"US Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations, Ambassador Kurt Volker will attend the YES [Yalta European Strategy] conference [in Kiev] in September," the embassy said, as quoted by the Ukrainian UNIAN news agency.
The embassy did not provide any details regarding the dates or the agenda of Volker's visit.
The YES conference is scheduled for September 13-15, according to the event's website.
YES is an annual forum, aimed at enhancing Ukraine's cooperation with its international partners, namely, promoting its European aspirations. YES was established by Ukrainian businessman Victor Pinchuk in 2004, when around 30 European leaders attended the first meeting. From 2004 to 2013, YES was held in Crimea, but it was moved to the county's capital of Kiev after Crimea rejoined Russia in 2014. Volker attended the last year's edition of the forum.
